This Cookie Policy applies to survey pages made available to respondents through InFact survey links, including survey pages hosted on m.infact.no and other InFact-operated survey domains. It does not cover InFact’s public corporate website or the business platform used by InFact customers and authorised platform users.
Survey respondents do not create platform accounts. A respondent normally opens a survey link received from InFact, an InFact customer, or another authorised survey sender.
For information about how personal data is processed in connection with surveys, please see the Privacy Policy for Survey Respondents available from the survey page and any project-specific privacy information provided with the survey.
Cookies are small text files stored on a device by a website. Similar technologies include browser Local Storage, which allows a website to store information in the browser. The rules concerning cookies also apply to similar technologies that store information on, or access information from, a respondent’s device.
In this policy, the term “cookies and similar technologies” includes both conventional cookies and Local Storage.
Standard InFact respondent survey pages do not set first-party cookies on the m.infact.no survey domain. They use one strictly necessary Local Storage entry to operate the survey and temporarily preserve survey progress.
| Technology | Information stored | Purpose | Retention |
| Local Storage entry with a dynamically generated key on the survey domain | Internal survey and form identifiers, configuration hashes, a last-update timestamp, question values, and draft survey answers | Maintains the survey state, supports navigation and page reloads, and prevents accidental loss of answers while the respondent completes the survey. It is not used for advertising, marketing, analytics, or cross-site tracking. | Deleted immediately after successful submission. If the survey is not submitted, it may remain until the browser or survey application removes it, or until the respondent clears the site data. |
The Local Storage entry may contain draft answers, including information that could be personal data or special-category data depending on the survey questions. The entry is available only to the relevant survey application through the browser’s same-origin security controls. Survey responses that have been submitted to the server are handled separately in accordance with the survey privacy information, the customer agreement, and applicable data protection requirements.
The Local Storage entry described above is strictly necessary to provide the survey functionality requested when a respondent opens and completes the survey. It is therefore used without a cookie consent banner. Blocking this storage may prevent the survey from working correctly or may cause draft answers to be lost.
If a particular survey introduces a non-essential technology, such as third-party analytics, advertising, or external content that stores or accesses information on the respondent’s device, the respondent will be informed and consent will be requested before that technology is activated, where required by law.
A survey link may contain technical parameters, such as a member token, reference identifier, campaign identifier, source, or communication-channel information. These parameters form part of the web address and are not cookies or Local Storage.
Such parameters may be used to open the correct survey, associate the request with the relevant invitation or campaign, support response management, prevent duplicate participation, or record survey delivery and participation. Their use is described in the Privacy Policy for Survey Respondents and any project-specific privacy information.
Standard InFact survey pages do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. Cookies already present in a browser from another website or browser service are not set or controlled by InFact merely because they appear in the browser’s storage overview while an InFact survey is open.
A particular survey may include external media or functionality selected for that project. Where such content uses non-essential cookies or similar technologies, it will not be loaded until the required information has been provided and valid consent has been obtained.
Respondents can manage or delete the survey Local Storage through their browser settings. For example, they may:
On a shared or public device, a respondent who leaves a survey without submitting it should clear the site data if they do not want draft answers to remain in that browser. After a successful survey submission, the survey application deletes the Local Storage entry immediately.
We may update this Cookie Policy if the survey technology, legal requirements, or our practices change. The latest version will be made available through the survey service and will show its effective date.
